Mike graduated from London University and also qualified and worked as a teacher. He then worked in the NHS for over 30 years, 18 of these as a CEO, then ran a consultancy. He has considerable non-executive experience, having been Vice Chairman of two University Boards and has also been on three NHS Boards. He is currently a Trustee of three other charities.

Flora has worked in education for 20 years, starting out as a teaching assistant in an EBD school near Birmingham.  Before joining John Rankin Schools, she was headteacher at Crowmarsh Gifford in Oxfordshire for 9 years.

Flora is also an Executive of the Talk Teachers Radio Station and hosts their Saturday show twice a month.

As a qualified teacher and experienced school leader, Deborah has over 20 years’ experience working in education with specific expertise in curriculum and school improvement.  She will provide strategic oversight and leadership of the STB in collaboration with the Co-chair.

Deborah has two children who currently attend the school.

As a qualified solicitor, Emma has carried out a variety of roles working in-house for local authorities, Legal Services Board, and in the commercial sector in telecoms and tech. 

She is experienced in advising on education law, including safeguarding matters and SEND, and commercial matters. 

Emma has two daughters who attended John Rankin and are now at a local secondary school.
